The New York of Seinfeld was largely being created thousands of miles away in California.

Production designer Thomas Azzari helped build hundreds of sets for the series. He recalled that after repeatedly showing Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David his designs, Larry eventually told him:

“We trust you.”

Azzari helped make that sitcom soundstage feel like its own little corner of Manhattan.
